More Frequently Asked Questions

What are the requirements for installing the Maestro server?

Maestro must be installed on a computer running HomeSeer 2.1.75 .

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or later with Internet connection (Internet required for registration and remote access).

Macromedia Flash 7 or later.

You must have a minimum of 24MB of available hard drive space. Space requirements will vary based on the modules purchased.

After I run the install nothing happens.

Be sure that HomeSeer IS running during installation.

Be sure you have Flash 7 or later installed,

If you are using Windows XP with SP2 you may receive a message telling you that a page or script has been blocked, you MUST allow these pages in order for Maestro to run.

None of my pre-existing devices are showing in Maestro.

Be sure that the devices which are not showing have a device type which is recognized by Maestro.  For instructions on adding device types to Maestro please refer to your Harmony Home Maestro Manual.

None of my pre-existing events are showing in Maestro.

During installation Maestro will ask you which events you would like to have displayed.  The individual events and event groups you selected will be displayed.  If you selected events, but none are showing please be sure you are actually connected to Maestro.  The easiest way to tell if you are connected is by looking at the Sunset time in the time bar.  If there is no time listed, you are not connected.

I made a mistake when answering Maestro's questions during install.

You can re-run the Maestro configuration tool at anytime by going to the following site on your HomeSeer machine:

                http://localhost/homeface/installer/index.html

How do I install a Maestro client?

Maestro was built to require no installation on clients accessing the system.  Any device used to access Maestro must have Macromedia Flash 7 or later installed.  It is recommended that Maestro be displayed using Microsoft Internet Explorer, however, Maestro will perform correctly with almost any standard browser.
